Country of Origin : Japan
Anyway, this liquor infused chocolate has been my favourite probably since I was in 8th grade. By infused, I mean I don't know what's the actual term is but the liquor is not in liquid form, but rather blends with the chocolate. For someone who doesn't really have sweet teeth, I really enjoy this chocolate as it is not too sweet. Each box of the Royce Nama Chocolate contains 20 pieces of rectangular nama chocolate covered in cocoa powder.
Where did I get it : ION Orchard, Singapore
This chocolate is probably one of the reasons I started this blog... seriously. I mean, can you imagine how amazing this chocolate is that I started a blog because of it.
This chocolate has a rather bitter taste with a hint of sweetness. I can't really explain how it tastes like but it is AMAZING. Everyone I've offered this to has said that this chocolate tastes great. It has a velvety texture that melts in your mouth. They come in a variety of flavours, even though I think they pretty much taste the same but with a hint of different flavours.
My favourites are the Champagne Nama Chocolate and the Bitter Nama Chocolate but I prefer the Champagne one, while most of my friends prefer the Bitter one. Other flavours I've tried are the Mild Cacao which is liquor free and Kir Royal which is a seasonal flavour and a bit more expensive than the others. The Mild Cacao one is okay but it's nothing special, really. If the first Royce Nama Chocolate I tasted was the Mild Cacao one, I probably wouldn't go back, same with the Kir Royal.
With 15 Singapore Dollars per box, a lot of people might wonder : is it worth it? And I would confidently reply, IT IS! Honestly, I haven't been able to find another chocolate like this, so let me know in the comments below if you have.
Side note : if you are travelling and you want to take this home, make sure to buy the nama chocolate on the last day of your trip as this chocolate does not last very long, and with the dry ice packaging, it could only last for around 5-6 hours before you put it in the fridge--according to the salesperson; I haven't actually tested how long it could last outside the fridge.
Note : Images are from here as when I wrote this review, I had eaten all of my nama chocolates.
